Gary Haycock-West, Chief Executive Officer
Gary Haycock-West, born and bred in Essex, set up Blue Cube Security Ltd in 2000 after becoming disillusioned by the lack of truly independent IT Security Solution Providers.
Gary's career within the IT sector began in 1980 and has spanned many sectors including retail, manufacturing and finance for organisations like Key Markets (now known as Somerfield), May and Baker and BZW (Barclays de Zoete Wedd).
Gary set out to create a new company, one which embodied the idea of a truly vendor independent organisation, offering expert advice on IT security solutions. The vision behind Blue Cube was to sell products with the infrastructure in place to support and maintain the solutions.
Gary believes in achieving an impeccable level of customer service and ensures Blue Cube remains the best in the market by constantly updating and expanding their knowledge of new and existing products. Over the years Gary has developed strong working relationships with vendors across the industry and as a result been rewarded with high levels of accreditations.
Rob Swainson, Managing Director
Rob Swainson began his career in IT Security some ten years ago in 1998 at BrainTree Security Software. It was in his role as Sales Executive that Rob recognised the importance of issues such as the protection of data rather than the traditional view point of simply locking down the perimeter.
It was in 2003 that Rob made the move to Blue Cube, where he began his career within the company on the shop floor as an Account Manager. It was at Blue Cube that he found an organisation which he believed truly embodied his personal ethos of honest, independent and tailored made IT security solutions.
Rob's passion for IT security saw him accelerate rapidly within Blue Cube, quickly taking on more responsibility and being promoted to Managing Director in 2007. The experience of having worked his way up from the shop floor to a Directorship has enabled Rob to understand the pressures of all aspects of the business.
Whilst Rob is now Managing Director at Blue Cube, he retains a keen interest in sales, often heading up campaigns as well as insuring that all staff members receive constant training on products, industry trends and knowledge to maintain Blue Cube's position at the fore-front of the industry. Rob is passionate about ensuring that all staff share Blue Cube's unique ethos, and do not simply look to 'shift boxes'; instead, being trained to provide customers with accurate, independent and tailor made advice and services.
Andrea Cater, Head of Finance
Andrea Cater has always had a keen eye for numbers and completed her degree in Music and Maths at Oxford Polytechnic before starting her training to become a chartered accountant with Jeffery Warner Elliot (merged with Baker Tilly in 1992)
Andrea decided to apply her financial skills to help her local school and undertook the challenge of training as a bursar for Felbridge Primary School. Looking to expand her experiences further, Andrea then took over the complete running of a local company producing regulation signage for a number of years. From here, Andrea moved into a customer service role with EDF Energy and took control of a customer satisfaction project. All these skills have equipped Andrea with a broad knowledge of all aspects of a business which she has been able to apply to her role at Blue Cube.
Andrea joined Blue Cube in May 2004 to manage its customer satisfaction projects and quality management scheme.
Andrea quickly progressed to become the renewals manger, using her wide skill base to expand and grow the business. As of January 2008 Andrea moved back to her first love of figures to become the Head of Finance.

After working together for many years Peak has ensured strategic communications foundations are in place, and are shifting towards promoting proactive media relations campaign between Blue Cube and their vendors.
